Who it's for

Founders building a lean sales stack.

Why it matters

Early teams often buy sales tools one at a time, after a demo or a recommendation, and only notice the total when the card statement arrives. A planner that lists every category, the seats and the per-seat price shows the real monthly and annual cost before you commit, and makes overlap between tools easier to spot.

Separating day-one tools from later ones keeps the first setup small. A CRM, contact data, a sending tool and sending domains cover what most startups need to start selling. Dialers, call recording, intent data and BI tools can wait until volume or team size gives you a reason to pay for them.

How to use it

  1. 1Open the Stack tab and review the 12 starter categories, from CRM and contact data to e-signature and reporting. Add rows for anything else you use.
  2. 2Mark each category Day one, Later or Not needed with the dropdown, and write the specific tool you chose in the Tool chosen column.
  3. 3Enter the number of seats and the current price per seat per month from each vendor's pricing page. Monthly and annual cost fill in automatically.
  4. 4Compare the Total stack and Day-one stack rows at the bottom, then cut or postpone tools until the day-one total fits your budget.

Sales Tech Stack Planner: FAQ

What sales tools does an early-stage startup need?
Most teams can start with a CRM, a source of verified contact data, an email sending or sequencing tool, and separate sending domains with inboxes. Warmup, a meeting scheduler and LinkedIn prospecting are often added early. Calling, call recording, intent data and BI tools usually come later.
How much does a startup sales tech stack cost?
It depends on the tools, the number of seats and the plan tier, and vendor prices change often. The reliable way to know is to list each tool, multiply seats by the current per-seat price and add it up. Separating day-one tools from later ones keeps the starting figure lower.
Should you buy sales tools before you have a sales team?
Buy only what you will use this month. A founder selling alone usually needs a CRM, contact data and a way to send email. Tools built for volume or for managing several reps, such as dialers or conversation intelligence, pay off once there are enough calls and people to use them.
